The relatively short journey, about 3 hours, to Sioux Fall, SD would take us, briefly through, Iowa. Thinking we may not have the opportunity to return to that state we decided to spend one night so we could add that state to our list. For us to say we have RVed in every state in the lower 48 we decided we must stay at least one night in each state. So far, we have.
The Onawa, IA KOA RV park was a mere 78 miles from Offutt Family Camp RV park so we departed Offutt close to noon and arrived at the KOA shortly after 1 PM. The temperature at the park, which was under trees and on a lake, was 85°F when we arrived. Not too bad so we took advantage of that and spent the afternoon outside walking and playing with the kids. We all enjoyed that. After dinner we sat outside again and retired to the inside as it began to get dark.
The next morning we departed for Sioux Falls after breakfast and another walk. We like parks that offer trails and places for these enjoyable treks. Sadly, very few have them.
We arrived at the Sioux Falls KOA and set up. We wanted to see several places here so we all jumped in the truck and headed out.
